IDA HAYNES

Ida was born in Salineville, OH, on January 3, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Haynes.

Ida dedicated much of her life to education, teaching for over 35 years in the Edison Local School District. She was an avid reader and lifelong learner who never lost her curiosity about the world. She enjoyed music, dancing, and traveling, and was proud to have visited six of the world’s seven continents.

She is survived by her children, William Haynes Jr., Stanford Haynes (Margaret); Michele Tegtmeier (Dean), and Stephen Haynes (Marilyn Wrenn); her eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will remember her kindness, independence, and adventurous spirit.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her grandson, Jake Haynes, for the years of care and support he provided, as well as Visiting Angels and Hospice. Their dedication made it possible for Ida to remain in her home, where she wished to be.
