DOROTHY ‘DOTTI’ BIGGS
Dorothy “Dotti” Mae Biggs Lombardi Sept 16, 1950 – June 6, 2026.
Dorothy “Dotti” Lombardi passed peacefully from this life after a long period of illness at the age of 75, at Peters Township Post Acute in McMurray, PA, on June 6, 2026.
Dotti was born to parents Ross Wayne Biggs, Sr. and Matilda “Tillie” (Cleary) Biggs on September 16, 1950, in Wheeling, WV. She grew up in Wellsburg and was a 1968 graduate of Wellsburg High School. She went on to live in a few different towns within the Ohio Valley of WV, namely Follansbee, Weirton, and in recent years, her grandparents’ former home in Beech Bottom.
She retired from her career at ArcelorMittal (formerly Weirton Steel) after 30+ years. Never afraid of hard or dirty work, Dotti took on jobs ranging from running a jack hammer to working in the tin mill to acting as rail crossing guard. She often spoke of memories and friendships from her time in the mill fondly, even following her retirement.
The most important pieces of her life revolved around family and friends. Her son Paul was her pride and joy. A single mother most of her life, she was utterly devoted to him, and they had a special bond.
Dotti was a life-long devoted animal parent, crossword puzzle master, patron of charitable causes, and creative cook. She often stood up for and beside the marginalized, mistreated, and forgotten. Above all else, she was a fiercely loving and loyal mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by: son Paul Daniel Lombardi and daughter-in- law Michele (Gaudiello) Lombardi of Carnegie, PA; granddaughter Jamie Lombardi; grandson John Lombardi and his wife Haven (Overbaugh) Lombardi; great-grand daughter Eleanore Lombardi; sister Diana (Biggs) Sox and brother-in-law Russell Sox; nephews Jared Sox and Matthew Biggs; nieces Samantha (Sox) Patterson, Kelly (Biggs) Gautier, and Kara (Biggs) Oxier; sister- in-law Cecilia McClory; several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by: brother Ross Wayne Biggs, Jr.; granddaughters Josie and Jessica Lombardi; several beloved aunts and uncles.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brooke County Animal Shelter in Beech Bottom.
The family would like to thank OSPTA Hospice Services for the care they provided Dotti during her final months.
Though all are grateful she is now relieved of her suffering, she will be missed dearly by those who loved her.
