VINCENT ‘VINCE’ STAFFILINO
Vincent Staffilino
Vincent (Vince) G. Staffilino, age 76, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Valley Hospice Trinity West following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Vince was preceded in death by his daughter Laura Jo Staffilino, brother Fred Staffilino, and parents Fred and Laura Staffilino. He is survived by his son Vincent C. (Sarah) Staffilino, grandson Shane Staffilino, twin-sister Vicki Yates, brother Joe Staffilino, nephews Bill Yates and Joe Staffilino II, several extended family members, and sister-in-law Linda Staffilino.
Vince was born on August 5, 1949 and grew up in Mingo Junction, Ohio. Vince graduated from Mingo High School in 1967. Contrary to what Vince would always tell people they did not actually have to burn the school down to get him out. A few years later, Vince began his 33-year career working in Boiler Repair at the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation.
After retirement in 2003, Vince dedicated his time to helping those in the Narcotics Anonymous Program. Having overcome his own struggles with addiction more than 39 years ago, Vince committed himself to helping others find the same path to recovery. Throughout his 39 years of involvement in the Narcotics Anonymous Program, Vince made many cherished memories and forged lifelong friendships that have stood the test of time.
As we remember Vince’s life, it’s especially fitting to reflect on the words of encouragement he would offer to those struggling. He frequently shared three powerful sayings that defined his spirit: “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do”, “Don’t quit five minutes before the miracle’, and “If you’re at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on”.
Vince’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Rahman and the staff at the Tony Teramana Cancer Center as well as the dedicated team at Valley Hospice Trinity West. We are forever grateful for the exceptional and compassionate care Vince received during his brief but courageous battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday May 23, 2026 from 10:00am until 1:00pm at Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel located at 4435 Sunset Blvd in Steubenville, Ohio. In keeping with Vince’s wishes, he will be cremated and laid to his final resting place with his daughter Laura Jo at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Narcotics Anonymous Program by members only or the Tony Teramana Cancer Center and Valley Hospice.
May Vince rest in peace and remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
