RUTH SPERRY
Ruth J. Sperry, 90, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at her daughter’s home. She was born on December 6, 1935 a daughter of the late John & Alice Carson Fleming.
Ruth was a member of St. Stephen Episcopal Church; retired secretary from YWCA; former member of YWCA board of directors and past treasurer of Area 9 Special Olympics. She was an active member and volunteer at Weirton Senior Center.
Preceding Ruth in death were her husband Richard J. Sperry, whom she married on June 23, 1957 and he died on March 24, 2016; two brothers Everett & John Fleming and three sisters Joan Beabout, Patricia Ward & Jean Bannister.
Ruth is survived by her children Richard (Sherry) Sperry and Robin (Hal) Miller; five grandchildren Madison (Katlin) Grimes, Carrigan (Isaac) Goodson, Hal (Christal) Miller, Emily (Christian) Mansur & Adam (DeAnna) Miller; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 3-6 p.m.
On Wednesday, visitation at St. Stephen Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. Burial at Union Cemetery.
