Maryann Ehle
Dr. Maryann J. Ehle, 91, of Steubenville died Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born June 2, 1934 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Jeffrey Grill. She is also preceded in death by her sister Patty Romanyak.
Maryann was a college professor at West Liberty from 1968-2008, when she retired from the Education Department. She completed her academic studies at Ohio University, the University of Pittsburgh, and West Virginia University. Maryann was a member of the Association of Teachers and Educators and West Virginia Reading Association, and was a published author. She frequently volunteered at the Brooke County Library.
Surviving are two sons Michael Farms of Columbus, Ohio and William Farms of Jewett, Ohio; brothers Frank Grill and Leonard (Patty) Grill both of Florida; sister Gloria (Charles) Otto of Chicago; two grandchildren Jessica Farms (Craig) Koler and Ian (Keirsten) Farms; three great grandchildren London, Scotland, and Ithell.
Maryann had a life long love of travel, gardening, cooking, and the arts, including photography as a hobby. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday May 6, 2026 from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Thursday May 7, 2026 at 10 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
