GENE MARTIN
Gene Paul Martin, 93, of Wintersville, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Gene was born on March 20, 1933 in Bridgeport, Ohio, son of the late Herbert and Mildred (Wrixon) Martin.
Gene is reunited with his beloved wife of 66 years, Ella Ruth, who passed in 2021.
Gene was a loving, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Gene was proud to have served during the Korean War as one of The Few, The Proud, The Marines. After serving in the Marine Corp, he worked for Ohio Bell for over 30 years. Gene was a devoted family man who cherished his time as a grandfather never missing an event over the years. He had many hobbies including wood working, golfing, and working in the yard. Gene was a member of Colonial Baptist Church.
Gene is survived by his daughters, Kim (Ray) Mumaw and Tammy Allietta; grandchildren Ryan and Blake Murtland, Shawna (Michael) Crespo, Christopher Allietta; and great grandchild, Airees Murtland; and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Ella Ruth; parents, Herbert and Mildred; siblings Anna Lee Delman, Donald Martin; son-in-law Michael Allietta.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Sunday from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Sells officiating. Burial will follow.
