Robert DiBacco
Robert A. DiBacco, 79, of Steubenville Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 29, 2026, at Trinity Medical Center. He was born on October 30, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio. He is the son of the late Albert DiBacco and the late Camilla (Adamczyk) DiBacco, and brother of Pam (DiBacco) Schloss.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Pam (Monti) DiBacco who he married on July 20, 1968. He also leaves behind his children and grandchildren: Carrie (DiBacco) Hammel, mother of Jackson and Jocelyn Rachel DiBacco Colfesh, mother of Isabella Merideth DiBacco Reidy (Brian Reidy), mother of Caesar, Anthony and Rosalie Along with a large Italian family of numerous brothers-in- law, sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob was an athlete and avid sports fan. As a young athlete Bob played baseball and basketball throughout grade school and high school. He was an outstanding baseball pitcher with Rich Donnelly as his catcher. He graduated from Catholic Central and then played baseball for 4 years at the College of Steubenville, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree and was a member of the TKE fraternity. He continued his education at Youngstown State University where he graduated with a Masters in Education with Principal certification.
After completing his education, Bob became a teacher and later started his own Health and Life Insurance business. He also became an avid golfer and started coaching little league baseball, along with grade school basketball and junior high football for Steubenville City Schools. He loved the Steelers, Pirates, OSU Buckeyes and all Steubenville schools sports.
Bob and his wife have been very involved in all their children’s and grandchildren’s lives. He was a loving, dedicated family man with a great sense of humor.His favorite thing to do was attend ANY event that his children or grandchildren participated in. He went by many names given to him by his kids and grandkids including Dad, Gaeg, Grandad, and Papa D.
Dad, life will not be the same without you. Your memories make us smile while your passing leaves a hole in all our hearts. This is not goodbye, but how much we will miss you, until we meet again. We’ll take good care of Mom. Love you.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 7, at Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel from 11am to 1pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 1:30pm. Burial will take place at a later date. Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate.
