EMELIO “BUTCH” BARBAROSSA
Emelio ‘Butch’ Barbarossa, age 87, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 5, 1938, in Jefferson County, OH, to Andrew and Lena (Stabile) Barbarossa.
Butch attended Piney Fork High School and worked for American Steel for over 30 years before his retirement.
He was a kind and gentle man who was quiet but very social. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and feeding the birds and squirrels, developing a love of animals.
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Theresa Cichon, Rose (Rich) Varagliotti and Larry (Chris) Barbarossa; step-children, Steve (Denise) Ramey, Bonnie (Dan) Stroup, Phil (Laury) Ramey and Kathy Ramey; and many nieces, nephews and step-grand-child- ren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice V. ‘Bea’ Barbarossa; siblings, Carlo and Cecelia Barbarossa; sister-in-law, Alice Barbarossa; brother-in-law Bob Cichon; and nephew, Rich Varagliotti.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
