CHARLES EVERHART

Charles William Everhart, 80, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Florence, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19th. He was born September 20, 1945, the son of the late Thurman and Mary Ruth Poole Everhart. Charles was the beloved husband to Carole Jo (Christy) Everhart for 43 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Claudia Everhart Raymond, Carl Everhart, Kurt Everhart, and Daniell (Nick) Matthews; two grandchildren, Terra Everhart and Anna Matthews; as well as his sister, Margaret (Gary) Clark; brothers, Rick, Robert and Jack, the late Roland and Larry Everhart, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles attended Weir High School. He proudly served in the US Army and Army Reserves for 32 years retiring as E8 Master Sergeant after serving in Afghanistan. He also retired from Burgettstown School District after 28 years.

Charles enjoyed Do Wop music and classic cars, especially his 1956 Chevy Bel Air. He had a love for anything that had a motor, always tinkering and fixing something. He had an endless wealth of knowledge and would let you know all about it. He was never at a loss for words, was quick witted, and could name any tune on the radio.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm and from 5pm until the service at 7pm, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton, with Pastor James Rhodes presiding. Inurnment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, with full military honors rendered by the US Army and Brentwood VFW Honor Guards.
