BARBARA JEAN WILINSKI
Barbara Jean Wilinski, 88, of Steubenville, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at her home. Born March 22, 1937, in Glen Robins, daughter of Ray and Helen Blankenship.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and great grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She is preceded in death by her daughter Lynette and brother Jerome.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Richard, her son David, daughter in law Susan, grandchildren Natalie, Amanda, Candra, Shannon, Mathew, Samuel and great grandchildren Braydon, Kaelyn, Abrielle, Theresa Jean and her sister Shirley Case and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was known as Purple Grandma to her grandchildren and those that were acquainted with her would know why.
One of her greatest passions beyond her family was volunteering in the Steubenville community. She garnered local, regional and national accolades for her unwavering work with the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aides of Valley Hospice that had cared for her.
Visitation will be held Monday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd, Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Fr. Drake McCalister will celebrate. Burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
