KATHRYN O’LEARY

Born in Steubenville, Ohio September 11, 1942, to the late Vincent “Mose” and Kathryn C. Marshall, she attended St. Peters grade school and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1960. She graduated from the Wheeling School of Nursing in 1963 and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the former College of Steubenville in 1974.

She worked as a nurse for over 60 years in many capacities beginning her career at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and later continuing at the Columbus State Hospital before returning to Steubenville where she worked for the rest of her life at St. John’s Hospital, Ohio Valley Hospice, various parochial schools and the Harrison County Board of MRDD.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; sister, Margret Florenzo; brother, Terrance Marshall; sisters-in-law, Patricia Marshall and Mary Beth Vukas; brothers-in-law, Lou Florenzo, Wayne Smith, John Romey, and David Delfiandra.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Louis A. O’Leary; daughter, Maureen O’Leary; son, Matthew (Elizabeth) O’Leary; grandchildren, Gavin, Alice, George, and Louise; sister-in-law, Ann O’Leary; siblings, Mary Smith, Sally Romey, Joseph (Barbara) Marshall, Vincent (Judy) Marshall, Ellen Delfiandra, and Michael (Janet) Marshall and many, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 5, from 3-6 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will follow on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Fr. Tim Huffman will celebrate. Burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
