CARL YAROSZ

Carl H. Yarosz, better known as ‘Hedda’, 69, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Carl was born February 17, 1956, in Steubenville, son of the late Carl H. and Dorothy M. (Romanda) Yarosz. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Ann Yarosz and his brother, Steve Yarosz.

Carl graduated from Toronto High School in 1974 and worked at the W.H. Sammis Plant in Stratton, OH for 44 years, retiring from First Energy as Maintenance Foreman in April 2019.

Carl enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and taking hunting trips to Colorado and Iowa with loved ones. He shared his passion for the outdoors with his grandchildren through activities like fishing, sledding and shooting BB guns in the backyard. Carl and his brother Ron also raced pigeons, together they created the ‘Yarosz Family Loft.’

Carl leaves behind his wife, his high school sweetheart, Robin L. (Stuck) Yarosz, whom he married April 23, 1977; twin daughters, Shana L. (Brian) Brown of Springboro, OH, and Shannon L. (Matthew) Stone of Upper Arlington, OH; his four grandchildren who referred to him as their “Pap-Pap”, Scarlett Stone, Declan and Rowen Brown and Hank Stone; sister, Martha McDiffitt; brothers, Gary (Vickie) Yarosz and Ron Yarosz (Veronica Zeigler), all of Toronto; sister-in-law, Marjorie Yarosz of Columbus, OH, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 11 am to 2 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home followed by services at 2 pm. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate, and burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto. www.jefosterfh.com
