JOAN L. DAMERON
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Joan Lou Dameron of Piney Fork, Ohio went home to her eternal resting place on December23, 2025.
Joan was born December 26, 1933 in Smithfield, Ohio to the late George “Henry” and Hazel Lee. She graduated from Smithfield High School in 1950 and attended Central State University, where she proudly served as a Marauder cheerleader. She later earned her nursing degree from the Ohio Valley School of Nursing and devoted her career to caring for others at Ohio Valley Hospital. Nursing was not just her profession-it was her passion.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her Son John “Kirby” Lee; Grandson, Joshua Elder; and Brothers, William “Bill” Lee and George “Michael” Lee.
She is survived by her beloved Husband Robert “Robbie” Dameron, her Son, Henry Lee (Cheryl); Grand- children, Henry M. Lee, Markell Lee, Brandi Jones (James); Great Grandchildren, Tina Elder, Harmony Jones, and Jett Jones; and a Great, Great Granddaughter, Juniper Elder. Two Brothers, Joe Lee (Christine) and David Lee (Deborah); and a Sister-in-Law, Sheila Ksiazek-Lee. She also leaves behind three Nieces; Karen Nunez (Michael), Alisa Lee, Cacy Pena (Ricardo); two Nephews, Jason Lee (Claudia) and David Lee II (Renee); four Great Nieces, Lauren Nunez, Katie Lee, Isabella Pena, and Gabrielle Pena; and two Great Nephews, Alex Lee and Ricardo Pena.
Joan was a woman of deep faith and an active member of the Shaffer Chapel where she served on the Stewardess Board. She was known for her kindness, strong work ethic, and generous spirit. She sound joy in gardening, canning, baking and sharing homemade treats with others. Above all, she treasured spending time with family and her fur babies, Cherokee and Clover. Joan was wholeheartedly loved and will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on January 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Shaffer Chapel AME Church, 1216 Township Road 191 Bloomingdale, Ohio.
