CHARLES A. PRENTICE III
Charles A. Prentice III, affectionately known as “Ham,” 55, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Born February 2, 1970, he was the son of Charles A. Prentice Jr. and Clarissa Carney Speaker and a graduate of Wintersville High School, Class of 1988.
Charles was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; his bonus brother, Paul Speaker; and his bonus father, William “Daddy Bill” Speaker.
He worked as a grill cook for over 20 years, including 12 years at Texas Roadhouse. Charles enjoyed football, dancing, and was a member of Greater Zion Temple Family Worship Center.
He is survived by his mother, Clarissa Carney Speaker; sons, Brandan (Valicia) and Isaiah Prentice; siblings Stephanie Prentice, Corey Hairston, Maurice, Christopher, Curtis Prentice, Brian Brown, William Speaker, and Clark Day; six grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gregory Martin Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Greater Zion Temple Church. Viewing 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., service at Noon.
