AUDREY LUCAS

Audrey had attended Capital University and was a graduate of Steubenville Business College & Clark Gilbert & Silverthorn Academy of Cosmetology. She was the former owner of Jane’s Beauty Shop in Steubenville for several years.

Her love in life was her animals, and she studied & graduated from Jefferson Technical College in medical assisting and made her license in Animal Health Technology as a pioneer in the field.

She worked at Argos Veterinary Hospital in Steubenville until her retirement. Then fulfilling her dream beginning her farm “Little Piney Knob” in Unionport, where she raised pygmy goats, pot bellied pigs, dwarf rabbits, various breeds of poultry as well as a variety of pet birds.

Audrey was a 50+ year member of 414 Labelle Eastern Star, Unionport Grange & lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Steubenville.

She leaves behind her beloved Bailey Bee, Niece Paula (Michael) Roche & nephew Bobby Andreen.

Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved doggies, Baxter Boo in August 2024, Banjo in Mach 2013, Annie, Struppi, Quatsch Kupp, Knuelch, Purzel, Ivan, Francis, Butch, Festus and her first doggie Pinky; her sister Beverly Andreen in April 2015, niece Cheryl Hunter in June 2014, great-nephew Charlie “Chooch” Hunter in December 2018, baby sister Ruth Elaine and parents, Lester W. and Ruth (Dean) Lucas.

Per Audrey’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation. A committal service, led by Pastor Michael Heckathorn, will be held at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH on Tuesday, December 16 at 11 am.

Audrey’s family extends their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Country Club Manor and Southern Care Hospice for the dedicated care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hounds Haven & Grace Lutheran Church.
