PETE McMASTER

Ernest W. “Pete” McMaster, 77, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025 in the Trinty Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Pete was born April 16, 1948 in Steubenville, son of the late Charles and Margaret (Cranford) McMaster.

After graduating from Stanton High School, Pete enlisted in the US Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, he went to work for theWheeling-Pitts burgh Steel Corp. where he was employed for 37 years.

Pete attended Knoxville Holiness Church where he loved to teach Sunday School and lead the singing. He also enjoyed buying and selling at flea markets and auctions where he made many friends.

Pete leaves behind his wife, Betty J. (Warner) McMaster, whom he married June 2, 1972; his five children, Pete (Esther) McMaster and Michelle Rickenbach, both of Newark, OH, Shawn (Lisa) McMaster of Garden City, MI, Benjamin (Kari) McMaster of Brownstown, MI, and David (Sarah) McMaster of Steubenville; two sisters, Sharon Stock and Tammy (Tim) Spicer, both of Toronto. He also is survived by twelve grandchildren, with one great-grandchild on the way, and many friends.

Visitation is set for Sunday, Nov. 23 from 1-4 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Services are Monday at 11 AM, with viewing beforehand from 10-11 AM. Rev. Arlan Kratz will officiate, and burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery with Military Honors being presented by the Toronto American Legion Post #86. www.jefosterfh.com
