JANET CLORE

Janet Lynn (Wilson) Clore, 84, a cherished Toronto native, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sept. 20, 2025.

Janet was born Nov. 29, 1940, to the late Jonh F. “Buck” and Janet E. (Jones) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Clore, an infant son Robert, and brothers, Gary M. Wilson Jon Brent Wilson.

A true Torontonian through and through, Janet spent 82 years in her childhood home on Loretta Ave. She was a die-hard Toronto Red Knight, graduating in 1958 and faithfully cheering on her team from the same stadium seats for over 40 years.

Janet could often be seen out and about or at the City of Toronto Water Office, where she worked as a clerk until retirement. Prior to her time with the city, she worked at the Timet-Titanium Metals Corp.

Janet’s heart was as big as her love for her community. She found joy in being a member of the Toronto Band Parents. She was also a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.

A familiar face on Loretta Ave., Janet would sit on her porch swing and offer a friendly wave or even a shout out to anyone passing by. Her quick wit and lively personality were legendary. She was known for her humor, warmth, and making every encounter memorable.

She leaves behind her children, whom she loved, Amy (Josh) McClaren and son, Matt Clore (Traci McKinley); her two granddaughters, whom she adored, Taylor Johnston (Brandon Roksandich) and Madison “Maddie” Clore, all of Toronto.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, laughter and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She is reunited with her mother, father, husband and brothers. Rest in peace, “Big J”.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 3 pm to 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where services will be held Thursday at 3 pm. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate, and burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.

Memorial donations may be directed to: The Toronto Band Parents, Valley Hospice – who provided such loving care, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – where Janet donated faithfully. www.jefosterfh.com
