DORIS DeLONG

Doris Jean (Proffitt) DeLong, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 92. She was born on 8/8/1933 to Oscar and Mae Proffitt. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Bud”, a son-in-law, both parents, six brothers and two sisters.

She enjoyed quilting and made beautiful quilts and blankets for her family, and she also enjoyed clogging and camping with her family. She was a member of the Weirton Heights Church of Christ. She will be greatly missed.

Survived by five daughters, one son-in-law, four grandchildren and their spouses, 19 great grandchildren.

Private burial took place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
