DORIS BLISCHAK

A native of New Oxford, PA, Doris received her RN degree from Philadelphia General Hospital and met her future husband in that city.

In 1948, she married Michael Blischak of Stratton, OH, and they began their lives together in Columbus where she worked in the Ohio State University Hospital while he completed his degree at the Moritz School of Law.

They returned to the Valley where she continued to work as a nurse in various health care settings and he established his law practice and life in public service.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, her parents, Elvin and Evelyn Harner, her sister, Nancy, and her brother Jack. She is survived by her six children, Alan, of Chantilly, VA, Diane of Virginia Beach, VA, Thomas and Susan of Mattapoisett, MA, Doreen and Doug of Columbus, OH, Donna and Charles of Gahanna, OH, and David and Maggi of Akron, OH. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by her sister, Norma Little and husband Glenn of Gettysburg PA, and her brother John and wife Nancy of Easton, PA.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23 from 11 am to 12 noon at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A graveside service, with Rev. Kevin Rineks, will follow at the pavilion in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
