DOROTHY TEGANO

Dorothy “Dotty” Tegano, beloved wife, mom, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully early Monday July 14th, 2025, at Weirton Medical Center. She was born on October 10. 1944 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Ralph and Lillian White.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years Dr. Joseph “Mickey” Tegano who passed away on March 20, 2011. Also preceding her in death was her brother Jerry White. She is survived by her two sons John (Amber) Tegano of Steubenville, and Justin (Sarah) Tegano of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Hanlon and her brother Ralph White; grandchildren Alec Tegano, Cole Tegano and Skylar Tegano. Also, several nieces and nephews.
Dotty graduated from Jefferson Union High School in 1962. After high school Dotty attended the Steubenville Business College. She worked at Reilly Chevrolet and Sears in Downtown Steubenville. But her most important role in life was her dedication to her family. She was a homemaker and loving mother who dedicated her life to her children and family. She was an avid tennis player and golfer mostly at the Steubenville Country Club where she is one of the longest ever standing members. Through the years she could often be found volunteering her time at the schools where her sons attended. When her son’s high school was going to get rid of their tennis team because they couldn’t find a new coach, she went in and volunteered to coach the team. She enjoyed it so much she continued coaching for several years after her son graduated.
She will be so dearly missed by her sons and daughters-in-law and especially by her three grandchildren who know her as Meme “Dotty.”
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Archangel Gabriel Catholic School, 5720 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks, PA 15136 or the Friendship Room, 419 Logan St, Steubenville OH, 43952.
