LLALANE LOY

Llalane Lynne Loy, 61, of Weirton, passed away from metastatic melanoma on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Llalane was a cherished daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend. She was a lifelong resident of Weirton, West Virginia, who embodied kindness, compassion, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

Llalane was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Loy Sr. and Leona Henthorn, her special uncle and aunt, Ronald and Elizabeth Richards, and her beloved niece, Angie Loy.

She is survived by her loving siblings: Luanna (Sam) Dotson of New Bern, NC, Richard (Londa) Loy Jr. of New Cumberland, WV, Virginia (Frank) Saloka of Hampton, VA, and Ray Loy of Moundsville, WV. She shared a special bond with her cousin, Ralph Richards of Weirton, WV, whom she considered a brother, and was treasured by her aunt, Doris Swearingen of Weirton, WV, who held a special place in Lanie’s heart.

As an aunt, Llalane was a shining light for her many nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish the memories of her love and support. She is survived by a large and loving family, including these nephews and nieces, Sam, Leslie, Xavier, Emily, Tim, Ethan, Jessica, Thomas, Caleb, Shelby, Rick, Tracey, Austin, Amy, Jason, Annie, Tommy, Landon, Jake, Shelby, Emma, Ava, Ashleigh, Nick, Grayson, Kadian, Kegan, Amber, Adam, Blakely, Ryan, Kelsey, Kennedy, and Monroe. She was always so excited to see them. Some were even taught to crochet, a beloved pastime of Llalane’s.

Llalane had a special affinity for animals and a remarkable ability to connect with people, never knowing a stranger. Her compassion extended beyond her family, as she formed deep friendships with those around her. We are especially grateful for the love and support of her dear friends Michelle Reed, Tom Kennedy, and Ed Utt, as well as the residents at Chestnut Manor, who provided her with comfort and companionship.

The staff on the 9th floor at Weirton Medical Center were amazing. Their care and compassion made a difficult time a little more bearable. For that, we are very thankful.

A special thanks to her cousins Dezso and Joe Polgar and the Hancock County Ambulance Service for always being there for Llalane. She always felt so comfortable knowing that you were just a call away.

A memorial service will be held at Kings Creek Union Chapel on August 16, 2025, at 11:00am, with Pastor Jeremy McClimans presiding. Llalane will be laid to rest at Paris Cemetery, located at 2 Steubenville Pike, Paris, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Llalane’s memory can be sent to Kings Creek Union Chapel, 2883 Kings Creek Rd, Weirton, WV 26062.
