JENO ATKINS

Jeno Matthew Atkins, 29, of Steubenville, OH, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital from complications related to a long battle with pneumonia.
He was born on June 21,1995 to parents Jill Watkins and Joe Atkins. Jeno was raised in Steubenville and was a graduate of Steubenville High School.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Hylan and Patricia Atkins and maternal grandfather Jene Watkins, with whom Jeno shared his birthday.
Jeno was a pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 495. While working on a job in Indiana, Jeno met the love of his life, Destiny Stahler of Louisville, KY.
There were three common threads woven throughout Jeno’s life: family, friends, and football. He enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved and was known for putting away distractions and being in the moment with them. He was deeply blessed with a circle of close friends who meant the world to him. Darius Hill, Jocelyn Couch, Anthony and Josie Leone, Kai McClurg, and Haley Hudson were not just friends, they were family in Jeno’s heart. Their bond was unbreakable, forged through years of loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support. They stood by him through thick and thin and he loved each of them dearly. Their presence in his life brought him joy, strength, and a deep sense of belonging.
Jeno shared his love for football as a coach for the Steubenville Broncos football team. He was dedicated and patient with his players, and taught them the importance of safety and good sportsmanship. He enjoyed attending professional football games with family and his favorite team was the Miami Dolphins. On college game days he rooted for the Miami Hurricanes.
Jeno will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness and empathy. He had a kind face and a joyful heart.
Jeno is survived by his maternal grandmother, Bonnie McLean; mother and sisters Alina Jackson and Rachel (Geno) Sloan; father and stepmother Holly; stepsiblings Claire, Avery, and Seth Watkins; brother Jimi Atkins; two nieces, a nephew, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 2:00 pm until time of services at 6:00 p.m. at Mosti Funeral Home on 4435 Sunset Blvd in Steubenville. At 6:00 pm a celebration of life will take place.
