RICHARD ROWLAND

Born on October 4, 1957, in Weirton, WV, Rick was the son of the late Richard A. and Vera Rowland. He was a proud 1980 graduate of Georgia Tech and went on to build a distinguished career as a professional engineer, dedicating 32 years to IBM.

Rick was an avid golfer who found peace on the fairway, and a remarkably skilled handyman known for his willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was fixing something around the house or tackling a neighbor’s project, he approached everything with quiet confidence and generosity.

He was the beloved husband of 44 years to his lifelong sweetheart, Terri E. Rowland; loving father of Lyndsay, Richard A. (Kelly), and Brandon (Danielle); and proud grandfather of Richard E., Clara, and Bennett. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janis M. Schmid, and is survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Rick will be remembered for his strength of character, his gentle spirit, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136, and on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5 -8 pm at Arner’s Funeral Chapel, 607 Carolina Avenue, Chester, WV. A service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11am at Arner’s Funeral Chapel and burial will follow at the New Cumberland Cemetery.
