Patrick "Pat" M. Tate, 85, of The Colony, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
He was born on September 27, 1939, in Doddridge County, West Virginia.
Pat graduated from Weir High School in 1957 and earned a certificate in mechanical drafting from Columbia Technical Institute in 1959. He began his career at Weirton Steel Mill before relocating to Texas in 1963. There, he worked for Texas Instruments before eventually retiring from Halliburton Energy Services.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brooks E. Tate and Nerine G. Cottrill Tate; three sisters, Joanne Barrett (Jim), Nancy Fields (Jim), and Florette Pierce (Jack); and two brothers, John L. Tate and Mark E. Tate.
Pat is survived by his wife, Lynda Tate of The Colony, Texas; two daughters, Melody and Raney Tate, both of Carrollton, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with Pat's wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dalton & Son Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Concho Hearts Hospice.
Pat will be lovingly remembered for the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind.
