SERGEANT LLOYD “TONY” FARRISTER

Sgt. Lloyd “Tony” Chester Farrister, 82, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on December 5, 2024 at Valley Hospice North Care Center, with his loving wife and whole family by his side. Tony was born on July 29, 1942 at home in Cedartown, Georgia a son of the late Chester & Leeberta Farrister.

Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962-1971 and proudly served his Country in the Vietnam war with Honor. He was a skilled mechanic and after the Marine Corps he worked for Coca-Cola and UPS before retiring as a Courier with Fed-Ex. He took pride in everything especially in his yard making it so beautiful. Lloyd also enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife and friends. He was a true southern gentleman having a kind word for everyone. He loved his family, was the best husband and an amazing father and grandfather.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Lee Farrister; four children Tony (Missy) Farrister, Erin (Ed) Wilson, Renee Farrister and Bryan (Dana) Farrister; six grandchildren Eddie (Alicia) Wilson, Rachel Farrister, Jonathan Farrister, Daniel Farrister, Bethany Keister and Alyssa (Cody) Haymen and two additional grandchildren that Lloyd and Dorothy raised Nevaeh Farrister and Bryce Flenniken; six great grandchildren Alaric Wilson, Jayce Flenniken, Kylee Stull, Madelynn Keister, Jax Stewart and Mason Keister; nephews Keith (Mellisa) Zonker and his children Dillon, Haley, Payton and Mackenzie and Kyle (Debbie) Zonker as well as amazing friends Paul and Bobbie Koltz.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. with additional visitation on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
