HARRY SCOTT SR.
Harry E. “Scotty” Scott Sr., 86, of Wintersville died Monday, October 28, 2024 at his home. He was born June 1, 1938 in New Kensington, PA to the late Harry and Florence Jackson Scott. He is also preceded in death by his father and mother in laws, John & Julia Sikole; son Harry Scott, Jr.; daughter Kimberly Emery; son in law Chris Emery; granddaughter Katie Scott; hunting canine companion Pete’s Pride and Sadie Belle; brother in law Karl Sikole.
Harry was a graduate of Western Reserve where he earned a certification as a orthopedic surgical assistant. He then worked from 1959- 1974 for Dr. Bill Mikita and James Valuska Harry then moved on to work for W.B. Coal & Wayne Boich as the plant manager from 1974-1995. He then retired from ODOT in 2004 as transportation manager.
Harry was a member of Jefferson County Sportsman Association, Moose and Eagles clubs; True Sportsman Club, Jacobsburg, OH and Ducks Unlimited. Harry enjoyed Lake Erie Walleye fishing, boating, hunting big & small game; sporting clays, trap shooting and reloading his own shells.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Jane, whom he married May 4, 1972; granddaughter Christine (Brad) Emery Warren and Julie Emery Schoen; grandson Harry (fiance Kristyn) Scott III; great granddaughter Zoe and very special sister in law Patty Halloran.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Thursday at 10 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Fr. Dale Tornes & Fr. Michael Gossett will celebrate. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
