ROBERT MCGINNIS
Robert Ray McGinnis Sr., 90, known affectionately to friends and family as Bob, passed away peacefully under Hospice Care at Country Club Manor Nursing Home in Steubenville on August 23, 2024. Born in Steubenville on July 21, 1934. He is the son of son of the late Alexander Raymond McGinnis and Helen Cusick McGinnis Kennedy. Bob is also preceded in death by his wife Delores Wells McGinnis, also his brothers, John and Ronald.
Surviving are his siblings, Eleanor Wickham, Thomas McGinnis, David McGinnis, Marcia Dreyer, and Mary Alice Donley.
Bob and Delores had 4 sons, Robert Jr. (Elizabeth), Charles, David, and Michael (Patricia). He had 3 Grandsons, Daniel (Bridget), Randall, and Thomas. his Great Grandchildren, Preston and Kyla
Bob proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. Bob worked as a Boiler Maker at Weirton Steel, and for a short time he even served as a janitor at Steubenville High School.
Bob’s passion for service continued as he became an integral figure in local sports, both as a coach and president of Steubenville Youth Baseball. His leadership extended to the Steubenville Big Red High School Booster Club, where he served as President.
Bobs love for the Steubenville Big Red High School Football and Band was only matched by his fervor for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bob was a member of First Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Bob will be remembered as a loving family man, a passionate community leader, and a faithful friend.
Calling hours are Wednesday 10:00 am until the time of services at Noon at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
