BRENDA HAWKEY
Brenda Sue Hawkey, 62, of New Cumberland, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024. She was born in Weirton on August 4, 1961, the daughter of the late Alfies “Spank” and Darlene (Eureka) Reese. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hawkey and a brother Randy Reese.
She was a 1979 graduate of Oak Glen and was employed with Mountaineer in Housekeeping.
She is survived by her loving family, a son, John Hawkey of New Cumberland, four grandchildren, Julie Hawkey of Newell, Skyler Powell of New Cumberland, Mallory Hawkey of Chester and Jaimason Hawkey of New Cumberland; a great-grand child, Ezra Taylor. Two brothers, Jay Reese (Jim Conkle) of Arizona and Ron (Christin) Reese of New Cumberland and a sister, Sharon (Ed) Northcraft of New Cumberland and many nieces and nephews. Private services were handled by the Nixon Funeral Home.
