ANTHONY “TONY” TEDESCHI

Born on June 12, 1942, in Steubenville, Tony had a zest for life with a forever young-at-heart spirit.

Tony will be remembered for his warm smile, generous heart, joyful spirit, and his constant willingness to help anyone and everyone for any reason. He was the hero and protector to those he loved and the patriarch of the Tedeschi family.

Tony was generous with his time and completely dedicated to his family first, with unlimited love for his children and grandchildren. He brought joy and love to every person and place, and believed worrying was a waste of energy.

Always a smooth operator and full of class,, he loved Cadillacs, good Scotch, 50’s music, dancing, and model trains. He embraced hard work and would be standing at your door to tackle any house project. He could make a mean stack of pancakes and was always up to enjoy a banana split.

Tony was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School, class of 1960. He served in the U.S. National Guard for six years, and proudly served as a trustee and valued member of American Legion Post 33, Theta Chi Alpha. Many from around the community will remember Tony as “the bartender,” at community events for the Chamber of Commerce and Steubenville and Williams Country Clubs, among other civic and celebratory occasions.

He is preceded in death by his beloved and beautiful wife of 51 years, Nancy (DiBiase) Tedeschi, his parents, Antonio Tedeschi and Mary DiLoretta, his brothers, Dominic and Joseph, and his sisters, Rose Delfiandra and Liberata Roszczyk.

Tony’s legacy lives on through his son, Brian, who resides in Pittsburgh and his daughter, Lisette (Aaron) Tedeschi- Kidwell, who lives in Columbus. He was the proud “Tadone,” to his grandsons, Eric and Aaron, and his little granddaughter and sweetie, Lissa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony is also survived by his love, Susan (Allen) Hilz, whom he cherished for seven wonderful and adventure-filled years.

Tony enjoyed numerous deep and abiding friendships, playing cards, and was always up for a night on the town filled with fun and laughter. His presence lit up any room he entered.

He dedicated many years of service to Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel before retiring, serving as a crane man in the 80″ Mill and on the railroad gang. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
