ANDREW “PJ” PIENIAZEK

Andrew J. ‘PJ’ Pieniazek, 95, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday April 23, 2024, at the Wyngate Senior Living Community in Weirton, WV.

PJ was born on Nov. 30, 1928, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Andrew S. and Stella (Wierzbicki) Pieniazek.

PJ retired from the Timet Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto, having worked in the Maintenance Dept.

He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto, the Toronto American Legion Post #86, and he was a 1946 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School.

PJ was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country during the Korean War.

PJ was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. (Foldi) Pieniazek, an infant son, his grandson Jordan Pieniazek, three brothers, Frank J., Walter J., and John J. Pieniazek, and sister Susan Grubbs.

Surviving are his sons, James ‘Slim’ (Dani) Pieniazek of Hammondsville, OH, and Mark Pieniazek of Weirton; his daughter, Jamie Flesher of Martins Ferry, OH; sister, Severine (Bob) Grant of Toronto; grandson, Luke (Michele) Pieniazek, Liz (Jake) Cassanari, and seven great-grandchildren, Lilly, Macy, Zoey, Emily, Ever, Jordan, and Journey and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass for PJ will be held Friday, April 26 at 11 AM at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. Father Thomas Vennitti will celebrate, and entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.

There will be an hour of visitation in the rear of the church prior to the Mass from 10 AM to 11 AM. Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Toronto American Legion 415 Market St. in Toronto, OH 43964.
