Shelley Ann (Perkins) Easter, 52, (October 8, 1971 – November 23, 2023) of Richmond, OH, passed away on Thanksgiving at home after a long battle with HLRCC (Hereditary Leiomyomatosis and Renal Cell Cancer).
Shelley was a Preschool Teacher’s Aide for Edison Local Schools at John Gregg Elementary in Bergholz, OH. She absolutely loved working with all the kids and with her teacher family.
Shelley was also highly involved with ALL Edison High School sports activities working the admissions ticket table at ALL home games. Shelley continued to do so thru the 2023 school year with her Truly Unbelievable Willpower.
It would be wrong to say Shelley lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick and weak she was, she was ALWAYS determined. When anyone else would have broken, Shelley stayed strong and NEVER COMPLAINED. Through her, we ALL know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
There was NO QUIT in Shelley. She was truly a WARRIOR. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight as she will always be in our hearts wherever we are.
Shelley leaves behind her husband, Russell ‘Russ’ Easter; daughter, Brooke Easter and son, Zachary Easter of Richmond; parents, Randall and Sherry Perkins of New Somerset, OH; brother, Pete Perkins (Jennifer) of Coshocton, OH, and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends EVERYWHERE. Shelley was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Perkins in 2013.
Family and friends will be received on November 27 from 11 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. A Homily Service will follow at 6 pm led by Fr. John J. McCoy, Jr of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Richmond.
A dinner, in remembrance of Shelley, will take place at the Stratton Municipal Building immediately following the funeral service. Shelley’s entombment of her cremated remains will be privately held at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH, inside the Coronation Mausoleum.
The family requests that flowers, cards, donations, and memories be shared to: Brooke Easter, 216 East Main Street/PO Box 509, Richmond, OH 43944. www.jefosterfh.com
