JIM SWEARINGEN

1970 Graduate from Franciscan University in Steubenville, he went on to earn his Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University and then retired from Columbus Public Schools after 35 years of teaching.

Jim was instrumental in developing “Com- puter Awareness” in the Columbus Public Schools. He was an avid reader and golfer.

Preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia, parents Edmond and Kathleen, sister Karen Sapp. Survived by his brother, Ron (Judy), sons, James (Melissa), Tim (Saundra) and Kevin, grand- children Austin, Alyson, Addison, Sean and Andrew, numerous nieces and nephews and his Golfing Buddies along with beloved dogs.

Friends received Sunday from 3-7p.m. at the Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home, 1068 South High Street, Mass of Christian Burial 10am Monday at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 1600 North Hague Avenue, where friends and family are asked to meet for the mass. Father Jeffrey Rimelspach, Celebrant. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
