Dean Allen
DEAN C. ALLEN, 88 of Weirton, WV passed away Tuesday March 16, 2021 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born April 25, 1932 in Lawrence County, PA. The son of the late Harold Campbell Allen and Geraldine Blanche Kingston Allen.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Johnson, Lila Walters, Betty Baker, Janet Paulin.
Dean was a member of Cove Presbyterian Church where he had served through the years as a deacon, elder, and trustee; A.A.R.P #2877. He had been active as a Cub Scout leader and Boy Scout committee person. He also had been involved with Habitat for Humanity in Florida. For many years Dean was active with the former Weirton Heights Volunteer Fire Dept. He retired in 1985 as fire chief of the City of Weirton Fire Dept., 1962-1985.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Catherine “Katy” Castner Allen; daughter, Susan Marsh (Fred) of Weirton, WV; son, Dennis Wayne Allen, M.D. (Donna) of Morgantown, WV; sister, Patricia Carpenter of Queensbury, NY; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Marraccini (Mark), Deanna Marsh, Dennis D. Allen (Leslie), Chad R. Marsh (Kara); 10 great grandchildren, Katrina Marraccini, Lucas Marraccini, Lani and Michael Daugherty, Bella Veltri, Colin Veltri, Henry Allen, Colton Yensen, Emily and Ella Marsh.
Visitation will be Friday March 19, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV with Roger Criss presiding. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
