PHILLIP PERGI

Phillip Rocco “PR” Pergi, 56, passed away peacefully on the evening of February 19, 2021, surrounded by family. Phillip was born on October 19, 1964, in Steubenville.

He is an alumni of St. Agnes Elementary School, Catholic Central High School, and DeVry University, from which he graduated with a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. He pursued a career in the steel industry, leaving as an Operations Manager of Arcelor-Mittal’s Cleveland site. He was a longtime member of Eastern States Blast Furnace and Coke Oven Association, of which he has presided as a board member for several years.

He is survived by his three children, Eliese, Phillip J., and Daniel Pergi, as well as his parents, Phillip and Terry Pergi, and his siblings Peter, Tracy, and Brenan Pergi.

He enjoyed spending his time outdoors hiking, hunting, and kayaking. He was a member of St. Basil the Great Church in Brecksville, OH.

We extend an invitation to friends and family to honor his life during visitation on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
