Danny Minor of Weirton went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the Weirton Medical Center; he was 76 years old. Danny was born March 9, 1944, in Urichsville, OH., the son of the late Charles and Beulah Staneart Minor. He was also preceded in death by his wife Sherrie Lynn Minor on June 20, 2017, and his sister, Judy Miller.
Danny worked for the former Weirton Steel Corporation for thirty years, retiring as a security guard. He was well-versed in law enforcement, spending a combined ten years with the City of Weirton Police Department and the Hancock Sheriff's office. Additionally, he enjoyed working for the County of Hancock as a bailiff in the court system, receiving his appointment by former Hancock County Sheriff Ralph Fletcher. Without a doubt, his most immense joy throughout his life was spending time with his wife Sherrie spreading the good news of Christ over fifty years through their music ministry. His commitment to his sacred calling allowed him to perform his duties as chaplain of the Weirton Police graciously.
He was known to all as a very "nice guy." He spent some of his spare time on the golf course, and if not playing golf, he was watching tournaments on television.
He was a Christian by faith, attending and graduating from the Urichsville, OH., School System. and was a proud member of the United States Army.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Dan (Chris), Minor of Fleetwood, NC., daughter, Michelan (Mark) Valentine of Weirton, grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Valentine, Chandler Stone, and Brittany (Michael) Brown.
Private services will be conducted at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
Pastor James Foglio of the Weirton Covenant Church will officiate.
Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens
