BROM, Joseph Leonard, 46, of Wintersville OH, died of cancer on Jan. 5, 2016.
He was born June 24, 1969, in Rochester MN. He received his B.S. from Towson State University in 1995 with majors in philosophy and economics, and a minor in art. In 1998, he received a M.A. in philosophy from Duquesne University Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a M.B.A. in 2004 from Waynesburg College, Pennsylvania. He has been an Assistant Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Eastern Gateway Community College for 15 years
His parents, Bernard and Paulette Brom, his siblings Diane and Richard, his grandparents, Alfred and Virginia Haugen and Henry and Katherine Brom, preceded him in death.
His aunt Cindy Haugen Broneak and uncle Joe Broneak, and brother, David F. Brom survive. He married Stephanie Schechtman in 1999. They were later divorced.
He was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed the outdoors. He hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 1995.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Jessica Houser and his family, Wayne D. and Mary Alice Richardson, Edward D. Richardson (Elaine S.K. Law) and Heather N. Richardson (Samuel P. Hazen), and his nephews, Linus Hazen, Silas Hazen, Rowan Law and Asher Law who adored him.
