STEUBENVILLE -- Local breast cancer survivors, thrivers and champions from all parts of the Ohio Valley will have the opportunity to celebrate their journey during the Power of Pink Photo Shoot, according to officials from Trinity Health System.
“This a way to honor our community breast cancer champions, those who are survivors, who are currently going through treatment or perhaps are supporting someone who is going through treatment,” said Laurie Labishak, market director of marketing and communications for Trinity, a member of CommonSpirit Health.
“Maybe they are an advocate for breast cancer -- we just want to honor the people who are really fighting the fight against breast cancer, those who are somehow involved in it daily,” she added.
During October, Trinity plans to highlight the participants on social media and through its marketing, Labishak said. On Oct. 29, a celebration will be held for all of the participants at the Steubenville Country Club. It will follow a lunch-and-learn format, she added, and will offer an opportunity to honor members of the community who are strong advocates for and survivors of breast cancer.
That program will include speakers from the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, thanks to Trinity’s upcoming affiliation with UPMC, she added.
“We’re excited to have them come to the community and share the services that are now available to our local community thanks to our partnership with UPMC,” Labishak said.
Photo sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Sept. 17 at Trinity’s west campus, which is located at 4000 Johnson Road. Appointments are required and registration is available by visiting Trinity’s event page online, by scanning the QR code on event fliers or by calling (740) 283-7296.
“We want to fill up those four hours each day with people,” Labishak said. “We’re going to have refreshments and we’re going to try and make them feel special, and we have a professional photographer who is going to be doing the photos.”
The event is designed to honor the resilience, courage and triumph of individuals who have been touched by breast cancer. Participants will have the opportunity to step into the spotlight and share their stories of hope, Labishak added.
“Every diagnosis represents a journey of remarkable strength, and every survivor’s story has the power to inspire and bring hope to others,” she added. “The Power of Pink photo shoot is more than just a camera session -- it is a celebration of life, community connection and the sacred humanity at the center of our health ministry. We are deeply honored to platform our local champions.”
Each image, Trinity officials explained, will contribute to a collective narrative of strength that reinforces Trinity’s commitment to comprehensive breast health, early detection and compassionate regional care.

It encompasses community, upliftment and mutual support,” Labishak said. “Celebrating our local champions through the Power of Pink reminds all of us of the profound power of human connection.”
