WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center and the Weirton Firefighters IAFF Local 948 have teamed up, once again, in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Weirton firefighters recently donated stress balls for use by mammography patients at the hospital while going through their screenings. In addition, the firefighters currently are raising funds through a T-shirt and sweatshirt sale, with proceeds to benefit the hospital’s BreastCare Center.
