Second Saturday to wrap up the year this weekend

WEIRTON - The summer season is winding down, and with it comes the final Second Saturday event of the year.
Organized by the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau, Second Saturday will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, at the Weirton Event Center, bringing together an evening of local farmers and artisans, vendors, live music, and more.
Musical performances will begin at 6 p.m., with the Trainjumpers, a Wheeling-area band influenced by the sounds of funk, soul, and reggae music.
They will be followed at 7 p.m. by the Suns of Beaches - billed as the ultimate Jimmy Buffett tribute band, bringing the beach everywhere they go with a show mixing Buffett’s biggest hits with other "tropical rock" favorites and a few original songs.
To date, vendors taking part in the farmers’ and artisan market include Addie’s Custom Creations, Big B’s Produce, Cherry Chomp, Crow’s Hollow Botanicals, Dunn’s Farm, Graham Acres, Grandmas Candy’s Goodies, the Lynn Murray Memorial Library, Mayfair’s Creations, and Nothin Bundt Cakes.
The event is supported by community sponsors, including gold sponsors Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, Serra Village Retirement Community and the Charles M. and Thelma M. Pugliese Charitable Foundation; silver sponsor WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center; and bronze sponsors Summer’s Enterprise, Form Energy, Hancock County Savings Bank, and Starvaggi Industries.

Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets. Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the Event Center.
