International Seniors meet

WEIRTON -- The International Senior Club met Sept. 8 at Undo’s in Weirton.

Mary Alice Myers led the prayer and blessing. Gene Viola led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by members singing “God Bless America.” A buffet dinner and desserts were served.

President Regina Truax welcomed the members and called the meeting to order. Rita Orler, secretary, read the minutes, and they were approved as read. Norma Henson, treasurer, gave the treasurer’s report, which was approved and filed for audit. There was no new business to report, but members were thanked for the table full of canned goods collected for the Community Bread Basket. Gabe Arlia volunteered to deliver them.

“Happy Birthday” was sung to the September members, Cil Findley, Barbara Purks, Josephine Elliott, Karen Welsh, Patty Beltrame and Dino Rossi. “Happy Anniversary” was sung to Shirley and Douglas Kiraly, who have been married for 55 years. Liz Beecroft gave the joke of the day.

Bus tours for 2026 are filled. For information, contact Regina Truax, Senior Tours, at (304) 723-0419. All tours are open to the public.

The 50/50 was won by Marlene Dunn. The Undo’s gift certificates were won by Joyce Dobbs and Patty Beltrame. Door prizes of mums from Iannetti’s Gardens were won by Deb Bonito, Carl Truax, Larry Purks, Norma Henson, Bucky Sims, Douglas Kiraly, Regina Truax, Elaine Briceland, Gabe Arlia, Barbara Guglielmo, Mary Alice Meyers and Patsy Dailey. Linda Phabe won the extra dinner. The Steeler wreath made by Regina Truax was won by Marlene Cruz.

Saturday breakfast in Unionport

UNIONPORT -- A breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wayne Township Community Center.

The menu will consist of pancakes and sausage, scrambled eggs and toast and sausage gravy and biscuits.

Proceeds will benefit the upkeep of the center.
