WELLSBURG - The city’s Town Square area will be alive Friday night, with a block party organized by the Wellsburg Urban Renewal Authority.
Activities are set for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., to include live music by Shawn Villamagna, food from Taters Food Truck, Rusty Bull Tacos and Murphy’s Ice Cream.
The Carenbauer beer trailer will also be on hand, with additional local vendors also on site.

The block parties were first organized by the URA as part of its fundraising efforts in support of redevelopment projects to a series of buildings located on the Town Square.
One of those structures, located at 701 Charles St., is now home to local business, the Kookie Jar, along with two apartments located on the upper floors.
Two neighboring buildings also have been targeted for redevelopment by the URA.
The final block party of the year is scheduled for and Aug. 21.
