An investigation is ongoing following a Tuesday afternoon fire at a vacant structure at 109 Westview Avenue in the Hooverson Heights area of Brooke County. Officials note the fire was reported at around 3 p.m. Tuesday after neighbors saw flames coming from the building. Units from the Hooverson Heights, Follansbee, Colliers, and Franklin Community volunteer fire departments responded, along with support from Brooke County Emergency Management, Brooke County Sheriff’s Department, and the West Virginia State Police. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
