Weather didn’t deter the people in and around Steubenville from celebrating America’s 250th birthday this past weekend. The family fun could be found Friday and Saturday from Fourth Street to Historic Fort Steuben.

Friday featured live music, vendors, local craft beer and children’s activities under the theme “Salute to America,” according to Marc Barnes, president of the Harmonium Society. The weekend also included a pie competition, family activities and food offerings such as smashburgers at the Steubenville Grocery Box.

Saturday’s “Super Saturday” included water-themed activities, a patriotic parade and additional community programming leading up to the fireworks display at the end of the night.
