Work continues on a mural project under way in downtown Wellsburg as part of West Virginia’s America 250 Mural Program. Painted by Wheeling-area artist Drew Gonchoff, the mural project is organized by the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau, with financial support from the Brooke County Commission and the America 250 Mural Program. Located on the south wall of 622 Charles St., it depicts a shifting scenery of the area, beginning in the American frontier, with views of the Ohio River, the introduction of local industry and the growth of communities.
