Tenaska plans expand to include power plant
STEUBENVILLE — Tenaska, the Omaha-based energy company planning a carbon capture and storage hub, has expanded its plans to include a natural gas-fueled power plant in Jefferson County.
Construction is expected to begin in 2028 for the plant, which will be located in Saline Township. Company officials envision will generate up to 1,700 megawatts, it was learned during Thursday’s meeting of the Jefferson County commissioners.
As part of the announcement, Tenaska is rebranding the project as the Tri-State Energy Hub.
