Picturing the past
Craig Howell
A new mural depicting some of the history of Brooke County is under way. Part of West Virginia’s America 250 mural trail program, the mural is being painted on the south wall of 622 Charles St. in Wellsburg, funded by $5,000 from the state and up to $20,000 from the Brooke County Commission. The mural is set to depict shifting scenery from the area’s time as the American frontier, to the establishment of commerce on the Ohio River, to the introduction of local industry, and the growth of communities.
