New Cumberland brings community together for Memorial Day
Craig Howell
New Cumberland hosted a variety of activities Monday, bringing residents of all ages together in observance of Memorial Day. The day began with a service in front of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3526, during which the names of New Cumberland residents who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation were read aloud. The service was followed by the annual Memorial Mile race, with participants running or walking along a course through the city’s downtown, as well as a second community service held at New Cumberland Cemetery. Other activities scheduled included a community parade and a community block party.
