LENDING A HAND
Contributed
Representatives of several local civic organizations game their time and efforts to the Salvation Army, Saturday, in assisting with the sorting and preparing of clothes donations at the organization’s Weirton location. Donations were sorted, with some put on hangers and labeled for sale in the Salvation Army’s thrift store, and excess or seasonal clothing items baled for storage or disposal if they are not suited for sale. Taking part in the effort were, from left, George Kondik, John Newbrough, Miki Marino, Carolyn Anderson, Salvation Army Maj. Tonya Roberts, DeeAnn Pulliam, and Gary Mastromichalis. Organizations helping out included the Rotary Club of Weirton, Weirton Kiwanis, Rotary Club of Weirton Heights, Weir High School’s Key Club, Madonna High School’s Interact Club, and the Salvation Army Advisory Board.
