WEIRTON – Area youth will be on the hunt for colorful, plastic eggs and a chance for prizes Saturday, as the Weirton Board of Parks and Recreation presents its annual Weirton Easter Egg Hunt.
The annual Egg Hunt has been scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, with youth gathering at the Millsop Community Center and the hunt taking place on the Edwin J. Bowman Field.
According to Programs Director Chris Krishak, this year’s hunt will include 7,000 eggs, which have been filled with candy and a chance for a variety of prizes.
Participating youth will be divided into three age groups: Toddler to 3 years; 4 to 6 years; and 7 to 10 years of age.
“We’ll keep them in the gym, as a holding area, and call them out by age group,” Krishak said.
There is no charge to participate in the egg hunt.
The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos, and refreshments will be available.
This year’s Easter Egg Hunt is being made possible through the support of several local businesses and organizations, including Platinum-level sponsor Hancock County Savings Bank, and Gold-level sponsors Starvaggi Industries and First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union.
