Weirton Council sets workshop

WEIRTON — Weirton Council will meet in its second work session to plan the city’s 2026-27 fiscal general fund budget at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The work session will be held in the Rose Room of the Millsop Community Center.

Water shutdown set

PINEY FORK — A water shutdown has been scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Piney Fork Vault in Smithfield Township, the Jefferson County Water and Sewer District has announced.

This interruption will allow the main line master meter to be replaced. There will be a 48-hour boil order for all customers in the affected area once service is restored. The following areas will be affected: Mill Road; Main Street from Mill Street to county Road 10; state Route 152 from county Road 10 toward Dillonville; county Road 11 and all of Piney Fork; county Road 8, Dante Drive Novak Dive, township Road 119, county Road 152A and township Road 1196.
